French Language Services (FLS) at Windsor Family Health Team

At the Windsor Family Health Team, we recognize the importance of providing accessible and equitable healthcare services for our Francophone community. We are committed to ensuring that our patients can receive care in French and have access to resources that support their health and well-being.
We strive to:

✔ Provide culturally appropriate care tailored to the needs of the French-speaking population.
The Windsor Family Health Team is continuously working to enhance French language services by:
- Expanding the number of bilingual staff and providers.
- Collaborating with Francophone organizations to improve service delivery.
- Promoting awareness of Francophone health needs within our team.
- Improving signage, communication materials, and accessibility of services in French.

Mental Health & Crisis Support
- ConnexOntario: Provides mental health, addiction, and problem gambling support in French, available 24/7.
- Centre de santé communautaire de l’Estrie: Offers mental health and community support services in French for individuals and families.
- Hope for Wellness Helpline: Offers free mental health and crisis support in French for Indigenous individuals across Canada, available 24/7.
- Jeunesse J’écoute (Kids Help Phone): Provides crisis support for youth in French, available 24/7.
Windsor-Essex Francophone Supports
- Entité 1 Santé: An organization supporting the planning and delivery of French-language health services in the Erie St. Clair and South West regions.
- Réseau des services de santé en français de l’Est de l’Ontario (RSSFE): A network supporting French-language healthcare services in Eastern Ontario.
- VON Clinique Francophone: Offers a wide range of clinical services in French to the Francophone community in Windsor-Essex.
- Association des Communautés Francophones de l’Ontario – Windsor-Essex-Chatham-Kent (ACFO WECK): Provides community development and representation for Francophones, along with information and referrals to French-language services.
- Windsor-Essex County Health Unit: Offers various health services, including mental health resources, with some services available in French.
- Clinique Juridique Bilingue Windsor-Essex Bilingual Legal Clinic: Provides free legal advice, representation, and referrals in both French and English to low-income residents of Windsor and Essex County.
- CMHA Windsor-Essex County Branch: Offers a range of mental health services, with some resources available in French.
- One Stop Talk/Parlons Maintenant: Provides free virtual counselling services for Ontario children and youth (0-17 years), with dedicated Francophone therapists and interpretation services in over 200 languages.
- Windsor Women Working With Immigrant Women – Crisis Counselling: Offers mental health and crisis counselling support services, including one-on-one, family, and group discussions, with services available in multiple languages.
Newcomer & Family Health Resources
- La Passerelle-I.D.É: Provides support services for Francophone immigrants and newcomers to Ontario.
- Santé publique Ontario – Ressources en français: Public health resources in French on topics like immunizations, infectious diseases, and chronic conditions.
- Association des communautés francophones de l’Ontario (ACFO): A provincial organization supporting Francophone communities across Ontario.
