Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare’s (HDGH) Community Crisis Centre of Windsor-Essex County provides crisis response services to individuals 16 years of age and older who are experiencing a mental illness and/or psychosocial crisis.
Connect with a registered Nurse 24/7 for secure, confidential, safe, and high-quality health advice to help guide your care and avoid unnecessary visits to the emergency room. This service is an easy way to get connected to care you or your loved ones need.
811 also give you the ability to find a variety of local health and community services near you. You will be able to browse a select list of services, programs and resources based on your postal code.

London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) are pleased to offer virtual urgent care to residents of Ontario. All you need is an Ontario Health Card, email address, and access to a device connected to the internet
Adult and paediatric appointments are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. You can book an appointment by visiting UrgentCareOntario.ca or by callin 1-844-227-3844.
Virtual urgent care might be appropriate for you (or a family member) if you have a medical issue that is NOT life-threatening but requires urgent medical attention and you’re unable to access timely care through a primary care provider.
In the event of a life-threatening emergency, please call 9-1-1 or go to your local emergency department.
211 provides information and referrals to community, social, health and government services. 211’s Certified Community Resource Specialists assess each person’s needs and connect them to the best available resources. 211 is a free service and available in multiple languages.
Through 211 you can access free or subsidized services from publicly funded and not-for-profit organizations, including:

- Newcomer and Immigrant Services
- Food Bank and Meal Programs
- Housing, Shelters and Utility Help
- Seniors’ services and Home Care
- Government Programs and Services
- Parenting and Family Programs
- Disability Support and More

To renew your health card or replace your health card, visit your local Service Ontario location. Ensure that you bring the proper documentation.
- Your current health card
- Your completed health card renewal form
- Three original documents, one from each listed on the Ontario health Insurance Plan.
- You can find a list of these approved documents by clicking the “Document List” link in the “Renew a health card in person” section found on Service Ontario’s Health Card Renewal page.
You may be able to renew your health card online if you have:
- A valid Ontario photo health care that
- Will expire within 90 days, or expired on or after December 1, 2019 and
- Has an up-to-date photo and signature
- Has an up-to-date address with Service Ontario
- You cannot renew your health card online within 90 days of changing your address with Service Ontario
- A valid driver’s licence that
- Is not suspended, cancelled, or expired
- Does not require a test
- Has an up-to-date photo and signature
- Has an up-to-date address with Service Ontario
- A valid Ontario photo Card (not expired or cancelled)
If you are between 75 and 80, you have to renew your health card in-person at your nearest Service Ontario centre to take a new photo. If you are 80 or older, you can also renew your health card by mail. Learn more about health care renewals for seniors over 80, by clicking here.
