Dietitian/Nutrition

Fruits and veggies on table

A Registered Dietitian is a regulated health professional who is passionate about food and the science behind it. They help people understand the connection between food and health and work with you to embrace food, to understand it and to enjoy it.

Dietitians use the most up-to-date science and translate it into practical guidance that you can use to make healthy lifestyle and food choices.

Our program provides time limited individual nutrition counselling to those 18+ years who are enrolled patients of the Windsor Family Health Team. The aim of the sessions is to increase participant knowledge of nutrition and to increase their confidence and ability to self-manage their health and well-being.

A referral is needed from a Windsor Family Health Team physician or nurse practitioner to join the Heart Health Program.

Group Education/Support

Workshops and classes are offered throughout the year and focus on dietary management of specific chronic diseases such as hypertension, hyperlipidemia, GI conditions, obesity as well as healthy eating and weight management (Eat 4 Life). Groups are open to individuals 18+ years and require pre-registration for each event with self-referrals accepted.
